Electrolysis
Electrolysis has been around since the 1800’s originally used by physicians for many microsurgeries such as eyelash removal.
Electricity is used for permanent hair removal for clients lacking the melanin (dark) pigmentation required for laser assisted hair removal. Thus electrolysis can be used to remove unwanted blonde/white hair that a laser is not able to remove permanently.
Disposable gold and stainless steel filaments are used to penetrate the epidermis into the follicle, where a small amount of electrical current is released destroying the growing cells nourishing the hair. The hair is released and removed during treatment.
- Multiple sessions required vs. laser due to the process of removing each individual hair
- No downtime
- Safe during pregnancy
- Can be used for vascular lesions, skin tags, milia
